The RMI Economic Brief is produced annually to provide an independent assessment of the Republic of the Marshall Island's economic performance and policy environment, as well as independently verified economic statistics. The RMI Economic Brief summarizes the full RMI Economic Review, which is developed to assist the government of RMI and the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs to fulfill their respective reporting requirements under the RMI's Compact of Free Association with the United States. The review summarizes recent economic performance, sectoral issues, external debt, fiscal performance and policy, public financial management, state-owned enterprise reform, the financial sector, private sector development, Compact issues, and the economic outlook.
The Association of Pacific Islands Public Auditors (APIPA) completed its 32nd annual conference from August 23 –
September 3, 2021. American Samoa hosted the virtual conference. This conference report highlights participants to the 2021 APIPA Conference, as well as courses, instructors, course outcomes, and participant feedback received.
EconMAP delivered an economic presentation on August 16, 2021, to Palau leadership in Koror, Palau. This presentation provides an economic overview of recent trends of the Palau economy, as well as updates on tax reform. social security reform, civil service pension program reform, and national debt. The presentation was delivered by EconMAP team member Kevin O'Keefe.
