Proceedings of the Second ADB Sub-Regional Workshop: Advancing Planning, Debt, Social Security, and Social Protection Policies in the North Pacific
The <em>Second Sub-Regional Workshop: Advancing Planning, Debt, Social Security, and Social Protection Policies in the North Pacific</em>, held in Koror from December 8-12, 2025, brought together government leaders, finance officials, and economic experts to address fiscal challenges facing the Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Federated States of Micronesia. Sponsored by the Asian Development Bank and facilitated by the Graduate School USA, the workshop focused on practical approaches to fiscal management and policy reform, including tax reform implementation and private sector engagement; debt management institutions, sustainability assessments, and simulation exercises; and pension and social protection reforms. Participants shared lessons learned, discussed best practices, and outlined future actions to enhance fiscal policies and economic resilience in the North Pacific region. The proceedings document provides a detailed account of the presentations, discussions, and policy implications.
