Assessing and Improving Policy Response to Economic Shock in the Republic of the Marshall Islands

This report, prepared by the Graduate School USA’s EconMAP team, was developed under a technical assistance contract with the Asian Development Bank (ADB). It examines the Republic of the Marshall Islands’ (RMI) policy and economic responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, including public health measures, relief programs, and fiscal impacts during FY2020–FY2023. The report also assesses four critical data domains—migration, remittances, foreign direct investment (FDI), and small and medium enterprises (SMEs)—and offers recommendations to enhance data collection and reporting. The analysis aims to support future policy formulation and strengthen the RMI’s capacity to manage external economic shocks.
