This study, commissioned by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), examines the economic impact of the Republic of Palau's Compact of Free Association and Renewal with the United States. Updated in April 2023, the report analyzes the structural features, trends, and preparedness of Palau's economy. The report also provides projections for Palau's economic growth and development, taking into account various scenarios and factors such as tourism, infrastructure funding, and fiscal balance. The Economic Impacts of the End of Compact Grant Assistance in the Three Freely-Associated States

This study, commissioned by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), is designed to benefit its three North Pacific member countries and their development partners. This study provides information and analysis about the three Freely Associated States of the FSM, RMI and Palau as they approach an important milestone in their Compact relationships with the US. At the time of conceiving this study, in late 2018, the range of possible outcomes at the end of each specified Compact funding period for each FAS was quite broad, and ADB believed that the affected parties and their development partners would benefit from a professional study that estimated the range of potential fiscal adjustments and then modeled the associated economic outcomes.
